Newson Academy was established in April 2007 by Jo Anne Newson with a small number of pupils. The Academy has now grown into a Saturday school with classes available weekdays as well.
We are a friendly drama school that runs weekly Drama and Musical Theatre classes for children aged 3 to 16 years and adults held in Pryford.
A typical class will consist of a variety of:

Physical & Vocal warm up             Drama Games & Exercises     Script work
Devised & Improvised work           Character work                 Voice work

Drama is a great educational way to build your child’s

• self - confidence            
• self – esteem
• Improve their communication skills            
• Open their imagination skills

Newson Academy will:

Provide a fun and safe environment to learn in
Provide performance oppportunties at end of Christmas & Summer terms.
Provide performance participation in Woking speech & drama festival
Encourage each child and adult to fulfill their true potential.

Drama also develops essential skills for use in everyday life!
At Newson Academy we hugely believe in the important role that performing arts plays in child's life and the benefits drama can bring.

We aim to assist in preparing our pupils for a successful future in any walk of life and to have fun whilst doing it!
The small classes mean that each child receives the individual attention and tuition they deserve! There are no more than 12 children in each calss.
No previous drama experience is necessary, just come with plenty of enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to have fun!

The autumn term will commence on Saturday 11th September and end on Saturday 11th December 2010
We welcome new pupils throughout term and fees are pro-rated accordingly.
