DRAMA CLASSES
Learn Acting, Confidence, Stage craft and Voice Skills
We encourage all pupils from 3 years to advanced to perform in the end of term show (December) and showcase (July) each year.
We also enter pupils aged 6 years to adults in Woking Speech and Drama festival in November each year.
For those aged 5 years upwards they can work towards the LAMDA Examination syllabus and gain recognised qualifications.
“Drama Tots” 3 to 5 years
A fun 45 minutes class for our youngest pupils, we take a maximum of 12 children. We aim to develop their confidence, make new friends and develop their imaginations and creativity skills.
Children will learn a range of dramatic skills through poetry, stories, plays and songs. Each half term is centred on a theme using a mixture of suitable material to be introduced to the wonderful world of the performing arts.
Each class begins with a warm up to get us focussed on Drama. The children use songs, games and exercises and then listen to a story. This is then acted out with all children taking part. We develop your child's imagination and creativity skills.
Foundation - 6 to 8 years and
Intermediate - 9 to 11 years
Children attend a one hour class each week. Drama is a fun way to help children develop confidence, self esteem and social skills. Children will explore a wide range of dramatic skills through poetry, stories, plays and songs. Each half term is centred on a particular theme and we use a combination of materials to explore characters and gain new dramatic skills.
Each class begins with warm up activities to get us focussed on Drama. The children use songs, games and drama exercises to gain new skills.
Seniors 12 - 14 years and
Advanced 14+years - GCSE and A Level
Students will attend a one hour or a one hour 15 minute workshop each week and they will gain confidence, self esteem and develop skills to help them in their future lives. We can also help with GSCE and A Level work.
We set and expect high standards from our students and the young people in these classes will explore a variety of dramatic skills, we use a range of dramatic material. Workshops will include Improvisation, Characterisation, Mask work, Mime, Role-play; we use poetry, stories, and plays as well as exploring theatre practitioners and key theatre practices.
MUSICAL THE ATRE CLASSES
Foundation 6 to 9 years
Intermediate 10 to 13 years
Advanced 14 to 18 years
Are you a budding Singer? Actor? Dancer? Want to learn a new skill? Then why not come and join this class led by Miss Charlotte Campling. Learn about routines, sing songs from your favourite musicals – Annie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Glee, Wicked, Hair Spray, High School Musical, Oliver, Mary Popins and Wizard of Oz. Learn acting scenes from musicals. Children can work towards the LAMDA Musical Theatre examinations both solo and group, take part in shows, festivals and the summer showcase.
